It's about time for my 2-month update! What do I do with my time? Updating the blog never seems to make it to my list so I'm keeping it short but I have a few goodies for you. Natalie and Evan have had a fun summer but it is coming to a close. Natalie has a big week coming up. She begins ballet with her first class tomorrow! Natalie wears her leotard every day to "practice" ballet at home and her excitement is only topped by Mommy's anticipation of a recital and cute frilly costume. :) Here she is getting a good stretch and trying out her leotard with "puffy" skirt on the bottom.
Natalie also starts the new year in preschool on Wednesday. She will be in the 3 year-old class (because her birthday is just after the Sept. 1 cutoff) and we have already scoped out her new room and the creative decorations they have put on the door complete with a tree, swinging monkeys for each child's name, and branches connected to the ceiling! This class is sure to boost Natalie's creativity! Natalie was most excited about the adjoining toilet with the room next door. :)
As for our little Evan, as you can see, he is a big smiler. He is also talking up a storm and likes now to correct me with "Mommy, don't say 'Oh, my gosh', say, 'Oh, my goodness'!" He is also on the potty training bandwagon and keeps his underwear most days while at home. Mommy is the one who is not so ready to leave them on while we go out. We started him off with a pirate hat and pirate book which Mommy read to him in "pirate voice" (only meant for Natalie and Evan to hear.) He received stickers for each potty and now says "Anchors away!" along with a pirate salute every time we flush. :) Here is a picture of our proud pirate pottier.
Evan also had his first haircut a la Mommy. Here are after shots - not so bad, huh?
Natalie and Evan say, "Goodbye to Summer! See you next year!"
